My latest essay, “Doctors Resort To Nonsensical Reasoning To Justify Surgeries On Intersex Children,” published today in the Huffington Post, is a searing critique of the nonsensical, and innately discriminatory arguments which doctors are still resorting to in an effort to justify Intersex Genital Mutilation (IGM).

The essay is a concerted effort to expose outdated, bigoted attitudes about intersex people, and encourage medical doctors to discard medical protocols mired in prejudice in favor of a humane approach to the treatment of intersex people. I hope they’ll be inspired to follow suit and begin treating intersex people like all other patients: as equal human beings!
