Viloria Speaks on Intersex Human Rights at the UN!

On Human Rights Day (December 10th), OII Chairperson and OII-USA founding director Hida Viloria spoke at the United Nations, making her the first openly intersex person to do so. Viloria’s pioneering work as an “out” intersex activist was honored with the invitation to speak on the panel event Sport Comes Out Against Homophobia–along with “out” sports legends Martina Navratilova and Jason Collins, and “out” human rights activists Thandeka Mkhuma of South Africa and Anastasia Smirnov of Russia–which was moderated by “out” journalist Thomas Roberts and held at the United nations in New York.
