In a paper published today titled, “Unnecessary Surgery on Intersex Children Must Stop,” Physicians for Human Rights, a Nobel Peace Prize Co-laureate, called for a moratorium on nonconsensual surgeries on intersex infants and minors!

We DEEPLY thank these physicians for recommending that intersex people be allowed to make critical decisions about our sex traits and our gender ourselves! It is truly the only ethical solution, and we commend their wisdom and courage for taking a stand against the decades old practice of harmful nonconsensual surgeries, a.k.a. Intersex Genital Mutilation (IGM).
