Dutee Chand victorious! Please support her right to compete!

On Wednesday, February 11th, 2015, Indian track star Dutee Chand soared to victory, winning the gold medal in the 100- meter race at India’s National Games. http://www.thehindu.com/sport/other-sports/national-games-dutee-chand-sprints-to-glory/article6883265.ece Dutee is competing while under reprieve by the Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS), which allows her to participate in domestic meets after she was suspended due to hyperandrogenism (high testosterone levels, which is associated with being intersex), prior to the last year’s Commonwealth Games.

We commend Dutee’s courage and strength in standing up as who she is against the historic discrimination against intersex and female athletes’ right to compete in sports, but Dutee still needs out support as the CAS will be making their offical decision on March 26th regarding Dutee’s ability to compete without these “normalizing” procedures.
