Today, in conjunction and solidarity with Intersex Awareness Day, October 26, 2017, the American Medical Students Association (AMSA) issued a statement calling for deferment of medically unnecessary surgeries on intersex children!

We thank the AMSA, the oldest and largest independent association of physicians-in-training in the United States, for joining the growing ranks of medical associations and human rights bodies calling for intersex children to be allowed to decide for themselves what, if anything, is done to their bodies’ natural sex characteristics!
