We would like to wish all our comrades in the LGBTQIA community a very happy IDAHO-T Day (Int’l Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia & Biphobia). Whether we grow up to be LGBT or not, all intersex people are vulnerable to homophobia, transphobia and biphobia if our differences are detected at birth or in childhood, because the nonconsensual medical treatments we are often subjected to are driven by these phobias. Intersex adults, as well, are vulnerable, as the current anti-trans bathroom laws demonstrate. OII-USA sends our deep thanks to the amazing folks at the UN’s Free & Equal Campaign, some of whom our E.D. is honored to know and work with, and to singer/songwriter Rachel Platten, for this gr8 video, and for their work to include and advocate for intersex people’s rights!
