Our E.D. Hida Viloria is quoted today in the Refinery29 article, “What’s the Difference between Sex & Gender?“.

“Essentially, gender doesn’t boil down to our sex parts for anyone,” Viloria says. “We’re born with certain bodies, but they don’t even matter until we start having a perception of who we are.”

As s/he mentions in it, people often forget to include intersex folks in conversations about sex and gender, so we’re grateful to Refinery29 for including intersex people and our human rights issues in this excellent, informative piece!
